trengthening Youth Work through Human Rights & Participation | Warsaw, Poland

Somalische Kultur- und Integrationsverein e.V. (Germany) was pleased to take part in the Erasmus+ Training Course “Strengthening Participation and Human Rights in Youth Work,” held in Warsaw, Poland, from 3–10 November 2025, and hosted by Fundacja dla Migrantów Dobry Start.

The training created an international learning space where youth workers and educators from across Europe came together to explore how human rights, inclusion, democratic participation, and active citizenship can be strengthened through everyday youth work.

Rather than simply learning about these topics, participants worked together through non-formal education methods, practical exercises, group challenges, discussions, and intercultural exchanges. These activities encouraged participants to reflect on the realities facing young people and develop practical approaches for giving them a stronger voice in their communities.

For our German participants, the experience offered valuable new perspectives and methods that can be transferred to our local youth and integration work in Germany, particularly in supporting young people from diverse cultural and social backgrounds.

The programme was also about connecting people. Exploring Warsaw, sharing cultures and experiences, and working alongside colleagues from different countries helped create new friendships and strengthened European cooperation between participating organisations.

Our sincere appreciation goes to Fundacja dla Migrantów Dobry Start for their warm hospitality and excellent coordination, as well as to the trainers, facilitators and all partner organisations whose contributions made the training a meaningful experience.

We return from Warsaw with new tools, stronger partnerships and renewed motivation to empower young people to participate, be heard and stand up for human rights and equality.
